A Season for Birthdays

The last little while has been a season for Birthdays.

Our friend Chris turned 50 and so we went down to Alpine to spend the day with their family and enjoy a delicious bbq.

Then came my birthday. This year it fell on a Sunday so I did most of my celebrating on Saturday. In the morning my friend Katie and I made Nutter Butter truffles ... yum yum yummy! After which I went to visit the Fox Family and then Mom and Grandpa and I went to dinner at TGI Fridays. Then that night my friend Ben came over and we watched Pushing Daisies episodes.

Sunday morning mom made my favorite breakfast of homemade waffles and I was able to eat it on the special Birthday plate.

The rest of the day consisted of phone calls from close friends and a fun visit from my friend Phil. Then we enjoyed these delicious ice cream cupcakes from Cold Stone.

One week later was mom's birthday. This year it was a special birthday as mom turned sixty! We had dinner at Archibald's Restaurant at Gardner Village.

We invited a bunch of mom's friends, some we have known for over 25 years.

In anticipation of this special day I contacted a bunch of my mom's friends from through out the years all the way back to high school and through her army years. They wrote letters to her and I put them in a book with pictures to document her amazing life.

It was a fun couple of weeks! Happy Birthday everyone!
