Cherry Limeaids & Millions of Memories

Katie and I first met about seven years ago during a new member meeting at the University 26th ward. We found out that both of us loved the movie Cold Comfort Farm and The Very Thought of You, which might not seem like a big deal but considering that most people have never heard of either it just seemed like we clicked.

Over the years Katie and I have spent hours watching movies, listening to music (she has introduced me to so many fun artists), sharing craft skills, cooking and inventing recipes, laughing and talking about boys, and just enjoying a great friendship.

Some of my favorite memories of Kate include photography explorations through the Salt Lake City Cemetery, Gardner Village, Thanksgiving Point and more, cutting up magazines and making boxes with the pictures, playing Animal Crossing on the shag rug, making cherry limeades and peaches & cream during the hot summer, going to temple square to see the lights at Christmas, a late night run to Village Inn after being hurt by a dumb boy, surviving the heat on hikes in Moab, fighting/teasing over John Krasinski, playing on playgrounds and doing side walk chalk drawings, and so much more.

One of the things I love the most about Katie is that I know that she is always there. We don’t always agree on everything and are so different in many ways but those differences seem to strengthen our friendship. She is a great listening ear and gives great advice. She makes me laugh and I enjoy our conversations a lot.

Plus she has given me one of my all-time favorite nicknames, Calberta!

Thank you for seven years of wonderful memories and an even better friendship. Love you Kit Kat!
