This weekend had a few rough patches. It started all well and good. I had the house to myself since Mom & Grandpa had gone camping and I decided to try and spend some of my free time with my friends. I made plans to go to the movies on Saturday with one of my friends and then made dinner plans with one of my other friends.
On my way back towards home I decided to make a stop at Hobby Lobby to get some beads to finish a few projects I had been working on. When I came out of the store I got into my car and it wouldn’t start. There was absolutely no noise at all. No clicking, no nothing. So I sat there trying to decide what to do. Keep in mind that I mentioned that both my mom and my grandpa were out of town, so I didn’t even know who to call. So I called Brigitta. Brig is the closest thing I have to family and I knew she would be willing to help if she could. Brig came down and tried to help me jump the car but unfortunately the car didn’t respond to the jump. Brig offered to let me stay at her house until she could drive me back towards home (I was about a half an hour from home and she had a meeting she needed to attend). I had made dinner plans with my friend Ben so I gave him a call to let him know I wouldn’t be making it and he offered to come and get me.
Well to finish the car story, I had to get a tow truck to come and get it on Sunday morning and take it to the car place. Well basically the problem ended up being that there was a dead cell in the battery which killed the battery. So I had to get a new battery put into the car. So now I am a bit broke but my battery is under warranty.
Yes this situation wasn’t fun, but it could have been so much worse and I am so grateful to have such amazing friends and family. (I also have a great mom who drove me down to get the car towed and back to pick up my car when it was fixed.) We have these awful situations that are stressful but I am grateful for the reminder of all the good that I have in my life.
